The infamous bet w/ my lovely wife is as follows. She gets $100 if I dump my fixie bfore 3/1/06, due to me forgetting it is a fixie and launching myself to the ground while trying to coast or forgetting to keep pedaling.
The incident in question was just stupid ice road skidding. Downhill sheet of ice. One 1968 Dia-Compe brake creating a controlled pedalling skid.
She will not get one red cent from that little debacle.

bullshit! there was NOTHING said about the way the wreck would happen! the bet was "i bet you $100.00 you wreck that bike before March 1st. You did. You owe. End of story.

Well, I would, but it seems I put myself into a difficult position here, you know - - rock and a hardplace. See, Mike has helped me out a bit this year by teaching me how to how to fix a broken bike in ten seconds or less,woke me up when I fell asleep at the hose during Granogue, he set me straight many times over. He even left the heat on the 55 degree setting I selected at Nats.
I also did not know the "incident" (see how I am avoiding the word crash or wreck)involved ice with a brake. Anyone could have fallen down in ice when they apply a brake. The way I understand it is the bet would end if Mike stopped pedaling and tried to coast and then crashed. Having been a victim of that situation myself, I can tell you that is far different from a slide in the ice.
(I guess I have zero credwith you at this point . . . . . . .)
